“This is amazing!” I nudged Sapling. She was a Unicorn. Feather and Soar were both Pegai, nipping at each others wings. “This means the other side gets more newbies too.” The general grumbled. I could just imagine 10 more hippocampus and qilin joining the army. I noticed a few more unicorns and another Pegai. This will be the last batch for a while I observed. Was I even a pony still? I felt large enough to swallow the clouds! Soar was still lying down, obviously confused. Sapling and Feather trotted outside, arguing and inspecting the pale, perfect landscape. I turned back to Soar and nudged him up. He nickered and joined up with me to see the background. Trees dotted along cliff sides and lakes filled the valleys. Soar gasped. I nickered cheekily and turned. Galah inspected us. I realised it looked awkward and moved away from Soar. “Follow me!” I challenged. My wings spread, and lifted me up into the air. I checked behind me, and Soar was struggling to lift off. I turned and pushed his stiff legs off the cliff. He yelped helplessly. I just sat and waited. Then a blur of horse was jetting up, spiralling. As he was about to land, the speed and wing shape determined that it was going to be a crash. I looked worriedly at Sapling, and cantered over to her. I was about to shove her away, but I was obviously too late. Soar was soaring toward us with barely any control or knowledge of what was about to happen. The General was glaring at the smash, disgusted. Sapling, Soar and I were a heap of laughter. The general singled Soar out and led him behind the camp. I trotted over and eavesdropped for a few seconds. “Practice actually being a pegai, not a bat!” Soar bowed his head. “Sorry, sir.” I couldn’t stand any more! So I trotted up in front of the general. He snorted. “He shouldn’t be criticised just for testing out his skills!” I challenged. “What if he hadn’t hit you, but an injured unicorn or Pegai! Now off you go or else I will make you leave.” I obeyed, disapprovingly. Soar caught up. He apologised. “It wasn’t your fault.” I grumbled, almost halfheartedly. As we reached camp again, my stomach rumbled. I trotted to the nearest field, filled with thick, juicy, long grass that called for me. I grazed for half an hour, not noticing Sapling and Soar join me. Spring had arrived! Something annoyed me. It was biting at me. I returned to watch the view on the cliff, a tornado of thoughts. Aqua! I trotted over to the border, watching the qilin and hippocampus frollick around their field. Dark bay, dark bay anywhere? I saw a new palomino hippocamp and a bay qilin. A black qilin and a.. Dark bay qilin! Aqua looked lonely. He looked at me from the valley and a voice popped up in my mind, ‘meet at midnight here.’ Was that Aqua? After an evening of grazing and chatting, I returned to the valley cautiously. The only horse there was a dark bay qilin. “Hey!” I heard Aqua from a while away. I nudged him, until I saw a deep gash from a unicorn horn on his side. I asked who, and he replied a white unicorn. Lady? Surely not. Then he said that the unicorn cantered to aid another pegai fighting a hippocamp. We got carried away, by saying who everyone was, we were unaware of the secrets we shared. After the night was over, we returned to camp. The general looked furious as ever, this time calling “WAR!”

I spotted Aqua right away, nervously shuffling his hooves. Should I be nervous too? Would they sabotage me like I sabotaged the dummy? Then, the general swooped up along with other Pegai. I was tailing the flock, aware of any sudden moves that the flock does. I targeted a hippocampus focused on the unicorns, not pegai. I swooped, until I realised another pegai was focused on that hippocamp. I swished away. The first thing I saw was a qilin, so I soared over to the black fire-breather. She shot me a look, then inferno burst out of her mouth. I charged, wings beating against the wall of fire. Again, in that split second, my wings hardened and inflicted a nasty wound on that Kirin. Success against the first opponent! I looked up, to join the flock circling above. This time aiming for a sooty white hippocamp. He looked ready for me. As I spiralled down, bullets of water shot at me. I avoided them, leaving the bullets to just soar higher into the clouds. Then as I dodged two, one hit my wing. My wing had a reaction and numbed up. Luckily a unicorn came to my aid. It was Lady! She had formidable moves. I was lucky that I was on her side! I retreated back to the air. Lady recommended to go back to base to get my stiff wing fixed. It was a nice idea to lay down again. I flapped back to the camp, my wing was getting worse. Wandering inside the med’s den. A lovely horse studded with daffodils and daisies trotted up to me. She straightaway placed cobwebs on my wing. I wasn’t the only one back, I observed. Two other Pegai, one speckle dark bay and another buckskin. The speckled one had a crippled leg, and the buckskin had deep burns and was soaked. After a few minutes of chatting with the medic, Galah, the flock had obviously returned. The general straightaway trotted in, and snorted to the speckled bay. “You don’t need to be here. A Pegai can heal easily!” Galah argued, “keep your mouth shut. June had obviously done something that a normal pegai’s healing can’t.” The general snorted again, this time much more annoyed. But even he would not dare argue with Galah. “A few newbies have arrived.” He mumbled. I trotted inside the other tent. Sapling, Soar and Feather were standing there, dumbfounded.

As Kiara went on, I looked at the Kirin side. A few black kirins, a sooty grey Kirin and a dark bay. Could that be? As the meeting came to an end, I trotted up to the dark bay Kirin. He snorted, then looked at me with the same recognition. “Aqua?” “Belle?” We said at the same time. How did he get here? What the hell is a Kirin? I had so many questions in which were impossible to answer now. Lady nudged me away from him. “Better to stay away from hippocamp and Kirin.” She mumbled with a small bit of hate. I looked questioningly at Aqua. He just shrugged. “Why?” I asked. It was unfair that I can’t hang out with my bud. “There is currently. A war.” I didn’t get it. This area looks so peaceful! As we trotted back to base, she explained not enough to quench my curiosity. I asked about the reindeer. I didn’t see them at the gathering! She explained they were special hybrid species, in which not to interact with. I realised there wasn’t many Pegai. As I was about to rest, the ‘general’ called us in. He was a Pegai, the other brown I saw. He looked directly at me, then turned his focus to the crowd. “It is time to win a battle!” He boomed. Murmurs of agreement rose from us. “Attack this dummy with all your might. It will show the strength rating.” He whinnied. A black pegai, then a brown unicorn charged. All of them were 6 star rating. Then lady charged. Her horn pierced the dummy badly, it would have a wound for life. Her rating was 8. She should’ve gotten a 10! The general snorted at me. It was my turn! I charged, swooping into the air. My wings turned to stone, or iron in that split second and decapitated the poor dummy. The rating was 10! The general looked at me fiercely. “Try not to massacre the enemy, but good power you found within yourself.” Was I being praised? What power? After a few bay and buckskins and chestnuts charged, we trotted off to battle! I had heard kirins can breathe fire and hippocampus can summon water. Would we drown and burn at the same time? I inspected my wings closely. They looked feathery, but with a slimy mucus on them. Maybe that would keep them dry! I looked back and there was an army of hippocampus and Kirin standing there. Uh oh Sorry for the previous being '5'. It was meant to be 6 but human error. Thanks

The breeze lifted me off the heap of horse. I shrugged the pain off. “I am so sorry!” I checked for any bruises or scratches on the chestnut horse, but she just stared at my thigh. I noticed other unicorns and Pegai were looking, too. I turned, and a deep gash from the unicorn horn was spewing blood over my ankle and leg. How did I not feel that? As I looked more closely, there was a tiny blanket of tissue or something growing over the gash. Pegai can heal! As I quickly rejuvenate, Lady walked up and commented on my flying skills. If that was luck or skill, though. The ground vibrated suddenly. Lady gestured me toward her and I snorted quietly. Something overhead was coming. As if my sight had sharpened in that split second, a unicorn with Pegai wings was walking toward us. Mumbling broke out, but as the magical horse came near, the mumbling turned to silence. A booming voice came out of the magical horse. “Hello, Unicorns, Pegai, hippocampus, reindeer and qilin. If you don’t know me, I am Kiara the Alicorn, and this is the Aither. The Aither is home to all near magical horse species.

I woke up in some sort of chamber, with horses flying about casually. I shut my eyes again. After I woke up from what-seems like a coma, there was a red roan stallion and a white mare fussing over me. The white mare looked furious and stormed off. "Hello, little pony. Hope you feel better soon!" He said cheerfully. As he exited, I saw a pair of red wings on his back! My eyes never betray me. I tried to stand up, hooves pushing against the silty ground. My head was numb! So I stood up and started to pull my head along with my body, then I realised what a stranger would think. 'Oh my! Where did that cabin come from? Where did that deformed horse come from too? I think I need help!' Not good impressions for the first time, huh. So I just waited there, amazed that they didn't numb my brain. The white mare trotted in, this time alone. "Sorry about that. We don't usually get ponies in here." "What about your housefolk?" I asked, daringly. She ignored me, and touched something to my head. I have feeling in it! "Could've used that a little earlier." I mumbled. After she explained she is a lady, and all that, I asked for her name again. "Lady, I have told you three times already!" Oh. As I really study her, there is a horn poking out of her head! I look at my head, which is impossible I just realised. "Do I have a horn?" I asked hopefully. "No. But you have a pair of beautiful grey wings though!" I thought for a second, then stretched them out wide. I canted out the swaying door and flapped the huge wings, as high as I could go. Then I started to fall, and drop. I manouvered my body to the position ready to glide, but it was too late. I collapsed on a heap of another horse. Great impressions! -Sigh-

I was trotting up to the others when Soar called out to me. I trotted up and looked where he aimed his dipped snout. What was that? The sky was grey! It was wilting! "Soar! We must tell the others!" So Soar and I raced up to Sapling "The sky is wilting! The sky is wilting!" Sapling looked at us and snorted with delight. "It is a storm, geniuses." Soar looked at me then at the flashing sky. He started to canter to the other side of the field. I looked up. The storm clouds were rolling above me, now. Feather snorted a giggle then straightened up when I trotted over to him. "If it takes down me, it takes you down too!" Feather snorted then trotted away. The lightning flashed furiously as if it wanted revenge. "I want revenge on feather too!" I agreed. What I didn't think that it actually wanted to attack ME! The thunder hissed above me, showing no signs of fear or mercy. Mercy was the last thing on my mind. "Aren't ponies stubborn?" I overheard Sapling and Feather. I am not going to let this be the end of this new stables! "I am doing this for you, stables. And you, backscratching door. And you, Aqua, even though you backstabbed me." So I, stubborn as I am, stood there. Aqua caught my eye and ran next to me, hoping for an explanation. I turned my back and saw a thunderbolt flying down at us. Instinctively, I jumped back. But Aqua was focused on that pony. That heartbeat seemed to last an hour. I wish my heart never beat then. The thunderbolt hit Aqua. His body vibrated as it hit the ground. I was vibrating too, as if some of that lightning crawled up my body. "Nooooooooooo!"

The kicking was ongoing. I dared to take a look over the gate. A brown horse with dapples was the suspect, and he looked FURIOUS! I stepped away, worried. That huge yellow horse looked over too, and snorted with disgust. I looked ambitiously at the yellow horse. She shook her head. "Sapling does not want to help miniature horse." Sapling, huh. More like a tree but anyway. For a while the gate threatened to tear apart. My back was itchy and Sapling looked ready to trample us all! Then what seemed to be his owners, they called Feather. Feather turned and trotted to them. One of Feather's owners trotted to me and gave me a carrot. I turned smugly to Sapling. She rolled her eyes, then extended her super-duper long neck towards the carrot. I was terrified! I let her grab the other half the trotted close to Soar's stall. "That horse is messed up, huh" Soar pointed out. "Sapling or the oth-" I never got to finish my sentence. The owners haltered us and led all of us to a paddock. Feather was standing there, grumpy. A little white pony trotted up to Soar and I, and introduced itself. "I am Snowflake!" Well, this is where things get a little.. "Heyo! I am Soar, and this is. Belle." The white pony looked confused then Soar and Snowflake chatted on about everything and nothing. I was looking for a horse. Where is Aqua? There he is! I trotted up to him, he had made a new friend too. It was another pony, small enough to fit in my hoof. "What is it?" I mumbled to Aqua. "It is a falabella pony! Isn't she lovely?" "Um, yea sure" I felt disappointed. It looked moons of us together to make friendship within each other, and within the first day Aqua had found a new bestie.

My cloudy grey coat shook as we stopped. Aqua paced in front of me, triumphant that he got his shaggy dark bay fur in front of me. Nope, not happening. I trotted in front of him, ignoring his snorts and hoof stomps. 'Belle!' My rider scolded. I dipped my head in helplessness. There are ponies that are followers, and ponies that are leaders. Unfortunately, Aqua and I are both leaders. So that makes us incompatible for riding trails. But somehow our Riders do it. Somehow. We finally reached the destination. What it was hung in the air like a mystery, but we got inside. It was stables, and the ponies there had something different about them. It also hung in the air like another mystery. We had never seen them before! We know all the ponies at the ranch, but here, the 'ponies' were colossal with long legs and massive necks. We  were like little gnomes compared to them. I looked in the ring. KICK! What was that? My gawd. These ponies are untrained. This makes us feel like the only proper creatures here. We were put in a stable. I looked next to me and I swear the BIGGEST most YELLOW horse was next to me. It had large muscles and looked like it was ready to bowl me over. I yelped. "Hi, largemassivehorsepleasedon'teatme!" It blinked at me. "Umm, pardon?" I blinked back. Was these things deaf? Or just acting up for me. Either way I looked next to my stall again. There was a black paint horse, with a huge dip in the nozzle. It spoke funny, like Beaver in my old stables. "Hallo. I am Soar" Sore? THAT is a bad horse name. He looked at my expression and said "Fly, not hurt" Now I understand. CRASH! It was coming from my stable door! I was ready to protect my door at whatever cost. It had bristles on it which were good back scratchers! This series is about the everyday life of a pony and all the minor problems that seem major. Thank you!

I looked up from my stall, Aqua being pulled out of her stall. Soon enough, Aqua's owner grabbed me. I followed obediently. There that sound was again. An owner was holding a machine that tore up the fresh blades of grass that could be of great use in another horses stomach. The girth, as always, was a shock. Aqua as always refused to let his head near that horribly green bridle. He looked at me with wide eyes. We do this almost every day and he still is a complete pain. As if I could talk though. My owner clutched my reins as she mounted. Off we went on our normal routine through the bush, turn left and -. We were going the wrong way! I halted, senses alert for any kicking. But we kept on going the wrong way. Soon enough, we were next to the grey lining. Only a strip of trees blocking me and the growling machines that always threatened me. Where were we going?
